Climate change
ESA and Tammam are putting these incredible images onto sustainable fabrics, and creating circular conscious accessories to help raise awareness of climate change and its effect on our planet.
About the Image
The flood plains east of the White Nile river in southern Sudan are featured in this image.
Fields visible in yellow are part of the Kenana Sugar Company, Africa's largest sugarcane industrial complex.
Globally, the area of sugarcane is rising rapidly in responde to growing demands for biofuel and increased sugar demand.
Sudan is the world's fifth most vulnerable country to the impacts of climate change.
This image was created by combining the near-infrared channels of three separate acquisitions, with colours varying according to crop type and growth stage.
