Tammillion reasons to love tammam....

+ No compromise
Tammam has style, Tammam looks great, Tammam feels good, Tammam is ethical, because for Tammam fair trade isn't just an option.
+ As good as it gets
At Tammam we believe it isn't just about putting on a little green, black and blue sticker. We carefully consider every decision we make to ensure no humans, animals or environments are harmed to produce our garments.
+ Decisions
At Tammam we don't want to mislead you - every item is labelled with its fibre content, dye process and place of production. Sometimes it is not viable to use organic cotton every time - for example in Nepal, it is almost impossible to obtain organic certified cotton. Yet our producers rely on our orders, so until we can get it to them we do use regular cotton crop. Occasionally we have to use chemical dyes, but they will be as environmentally friendly as possible.We are trying to help people achieve the perfection of ethical trading but it is an expensive process tied up in a lot of red tape. We are being honest with you and our producers. Nothing is 100% ethical, which is why we are being open and honest instead of relying on a misleading logo.
+ Seriously
We promise that our ethical policy is from the heart, not amarketing stunt. No bollox.
+ Fair trade policy
All products are made in factories working under fair trade conditions. Factories are either IFAT (International Federation for Alternative Trading) or FLO (Fairtrade labelling organisation) certified, or working towards achieving this status (due to cost and processing times Tammam will work with uncertified companies, while helping them achieve Fair trade status, after inspection by a Tammam employee.

Currently Tammam works with producers in India and Nepal. Personal relationships have been built with each supplier and they are visited and inspected regularly. Each supplier has a speciality and we aim to help them grow as we do.

We only use;
Peace silk - where the moth has been allowed to emerge from its cocoon before the fibre is extracted.
Tussah silk - wild silk cocoons collected, from forests in Bihar, after the moth has emerged.
Tibetan sheep wool - from wild sheep in the Tibetan Himalaya (minimal fibre content used as a mix).
+ Charity
Tammam will ensure a percentage of profits (10%) each season go back to our producers to improve and increase their working conditions, training programs, workforce or to help their local communities. Tammam has released a T shirt range designed for the Breast feeding manifesto and Best Beginnings with 100% of profits going directly to the charity.
